JENNY MEADOWS' OLYMPIC HOPES CONTINUE

Our athlete Jenny Meadows yesterday left her hopes of making the team for the London Olympics hanging in the balance when she was forced to withdraw from the 800m at the European Championships in Helsinki.
Jenny has been out of action this year due to a rare achilles injury so has not been able to obtain a current A standard to prove her form to the selectors.
She made the decision to miss the British Trials in Birmingham last weekend in order to give herself an extra week ahead of the Europeans where she felt she could do herself justice. However, on the day of her first race she pulled out due to her achilles being affected by the flight over to Helsinki.
