On Sunday 7th April 2013, Wakefield Wildcats travelled to the DW Stadium to battle it out with Wigan Warriors and three deserving children from the local area were able to witness the game in style!

Wigan Warrior's main sponsor, Applicado-FS, kindly donated their corporate box for the use of Box 4 Kids and three seriously ill and disabled children, nominated by the staff from the Rainbow Ward at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, were able to attend.

On 7th April 2013, Wells Sports Foundation Ambassador Mark Buckingham won his third successive British Elite Duathlon title at Prestwold Airfield.

Mark faced tough competition from fellow Wells Sports Foundation Ambassador, Adam Bowden but managed to take control at the front of the field, establishing a lead that no one could contend with. Mark finished the race in a fantastic time of 54.05 with Adam finishing in a close second with a time of 54.18.

Beth and her partner Dan Winston scored a brilliant 36.5 out of 40 for their first showcase routine of the night which they performed to 'Car Wash' by Rose Royce. They then went on to perform their favourite (and our favourite!) routine of the series to 'Clown' by Emile Sande.

A few days before the opening of London 2012, it occurred to me that since I began my project involving Olympic hopefuls 4 years ago, I hadn't actually sat down to reflect on my journey... I'd just been way too busy!

Now that the London Olympics are over its time to get back to reality and look at how we can continue to make a difference through its legacy.

After 16 days of Olympic euphoria, the London Olympics have sadly come to an end.

For the Wells Sports Foundation’s team of athletes, it has been an awesome couple of weeks, with our Patron and face of the Games, Jess Ennis, achieving her long term dream of Gold. To deliver under the conditions of such public expectation shows true greatness.

There has been some really positive coverage on Barrie’s support of our athletes over the Olympic period.

Beth Tweddle spoke to The Metro about her Olympic bronze medal in the uneven bars, including the support she has found to be invaluable. She personally thanked Barrie for buying her an ice machine, which she used to aid her recovery from keyhole surgery on her knee.
